A GARDEN RETREAT

Tucked behind a character-filled town cottage, this once-tired outdoor space has been thoughtfully reimagined into a tranquil garden that invites both relaxation and entertaining. Our goal was to create a timeless space, somewhere to unwind, host friends, and feel connected to nature, all year round.

 

At the heart of the design is a series of warm, welcoming patios and pathways, paved in softly toned limestone. These generous surfaces provide structure, while hand-laid limestone setts add subtle texture and detail, just enough to catch the eye without overwhelming the space.

 

A terracotta water feature now takes centre stage, its gentle trickle adding soothing sound and movement. Elsewhere in the garden, an up-lit multi-stem tree create another focal point. This pairing not only draws the eye but also helps connect the garden visually to both the garden room and the cottage itself.

 

Planting plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere. A carefully restrained palette of greens, whites, and purples brings a soft, sophisticated elegance to the space. 

 

This garden isn’t just a makeover, it’s a retreat designed for modern living, with a respectful nod to the charm of the original cottage. It’s a place to pause, gather, and enjoy the simple beauty of thoughtful outdoor design
